Starting with their inaugural event in 2014 the Atlanta Cycling Festival is hoping to be known as the “SXSW for bikes – Where people take a week off work and travel to Atlanta, GA, for bike rides, bike art, bike movies, bike tech, bike trends, bike jobs and bike everything.” This year’s week of events promises to be even better than last. Roof top pump tracks, Bike lazer tag, beer, beer, beer, Group rides and Loosenut Cycles’ 6th anniversary party. I don’t know if they can top last years Whiskey fountain. At least bring it back!
Falling in the same week is Atlanta’s own car free street riding, Atlanta Streets Alive, where Peachtree St will be shut down for cyclist and pedestrians. You can pop on over to Atlanta Cycling Festivals website and take a peak at their calendar. They also have a spiffy iOS app for your smart phones to keep track of where you want to be while zipping around town on your bike.
I’ll be hitting up several rides and parties as well as some seminars and will write something once I’ve put my miles in!
